Even though nobody wants to hear the word 'economic crisis' anymore, it had a remarkable impact on business and turist visitor numbers in Las Vegas. In 2007 6.2 million people visited a convention in America's gambling city number one. The following year it was slightly less, even though the crisis had already hit the market. After a drop-off of almost 25 percent in the last two years and declining hotel and casino revenues, market watchers predict that the in 2011 numbers should be on the rise again.

Native american Ho-Chunk Nation plans to build a tribal casino in Beloit, Wisonsin, according to spokeswoman Anne Thundercloud. Ho-Chunk Nation already is a big employer in the state of Wisconsin.

Las Vegas Casino mogul Steve Wynn has been granted monegasque citizenship by Prince Albert II of Monaco. Wynn is going to be a director for a hotel joint venture project between the governments of Monaco and Qatar.
